In 2020, AITESA collaborated with a chemical company in Galicia that was facing recurrent failures in the steam superheater feeding its turbine. These failures caused prolonged shutdowns, seriously affecting operational continuity.

After a detailed analysis of the equipment and its operating conditions, AITESA proposed a solution based on two axes: a mechanical redesign, with optimized selection of materials and thicknesses to ensure reliability and durability, and a thermal redesign, adjusted to the process requirements and the industrial environment. This allowed improving the thermal performance with a smaller and lighter equipment.

The new superheater was manufactured and installed in 2021 and, since then, has operated continuously, meeting the required performance and reliability levels. The intervention not only solved the technical problem, but also improved the overall efficiency of the system.

This case demonstrates AITESA’s ability to design customized solutions, combining technical expertise and industry knowledge to deliver real and sustainable results.
